If you like being healthy, fit or just trying to improve and taking care of what you eat, perhaps you already have heard about Quinoa, this superfood is an amazing source of protein, vitamins, fiber, is also low fat and lacks gluten.
Quinoa is a grain or seed but is categorized as a pseudocereal because it’s used in much the same way as a cereal (true cereals are grasses, quinoa isn’t), quinoa can be used in desserts but also in salads for it has a neutral nutty-tasting flavor and there’s three varieties; the red, black and white quinoa this last has a more neutral flavor.
In today’s video I’m going to show you how to prepare quinoa… You’ll see it’s super easy, quinoa it’s even easier than preparing rice, you can make quinoa and eat it for breakfast with some milk and fruits, or in a salad for lunch or dinner. With quinoa you can start making changes to your diet, making it healthier. Lately I’ve been trying to bring you some health-giving recipes so we can lose some weight and get a little bit fitter, reducing some calories while at it! :P
Learn how to prepare basic quinoa, it’s super easy!
1. Pour quinoa in a fine mesh kitchen strainer and rinse about three times with cold tap water while running your finger through the quinoa seeds, let it dry.
2. Pour the cup of water in a pan and stir the quinoa seeds over low heat, let it boil and cover until done about 15 minutes approximately, turn off the heat because is ready! After it has cooked, use a fork to separate the grains this way your quinoa will look fluffy and pretty. See, is that easy! ;-)
